April 1, 2021.- On March 18, the first intersectoral drone technology workshop of the European project Aerial Uptake took place with the aim to promote the adoption of drone technologies through the strategic areas of innovation and the market.

In virtual format, the attendees of the meeting participated in a dynamic workshop of improving the adoption and social acceptance of drones in Catalonia. The session gathered the different points of view of the participants, among whom, in addition to industry professionals, there were also people interested in the ecosystem, companies, research centers and potential aggregators of technology and public administrations.

The results of this first meeting will be shared with the other European project partners and will serve as a starting point for a future draft of regional policies relating to the drone sector. The next intersectoral workshop will take place on May 13 and will focus on the ethical and social aspect with the aim of improving the vision and acceptance of the UAS by the public and the market.

The Aerial Uptake project has the specific objective of promoting the assimilation of RPAS technologies through the exchange of experiences and good practices. The meetings of the GSRs of each participating region are key to knowing the territorial reality and working on future improvements. Catalan participation in the project is coordinated by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the i2CAT Foundation.

Aerial Uptake is part of the INTERREG EUROPE international cooperation program within the framework of the European Territorial Cooperation objective, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
