European project partners presented success stories and good practices with drones with the aim of improving European regional policies
On the 28 and 30 October, Aerial Uptake held a brainstorming seminar with partners from the six European regions that make up the project. The session, organized by the partner of the city of Osijek (Croatia), together with the project leaders in the City of Enschede (Netherlands), was attended by about thirty participants from academia, business, and government. The seminar, held online, presented fourteen success stories with drones applied in rural and urban environments with the aim of sharing experiences and improving regional policies in the drone sector in the European Union.
Representatives of the member companies of Catalonia Smart Drones: Marc Beltrán, COO of BCN Drone Center; Hadar Ayxandri, BDM of EbreDrone; and Marc Viader, CEO of DroneFutura, shared the results of their success stories with the rest of the audience. Also present were Eduard Ruiz, CEO of Aerofor Enterprise and a member of the Catalan drone community; the Generalitat de Catalunya and the i2CAT Foundation, as members of the project consortium.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the seminar could be held adapting to the online format, following health regulations. During the group dynamics of the second day, the participants had a space for debate and reflection in which they could share opinions and lessons learned and how these could be transferred to each of the regions represented through the regional action plans.
The director of the Mobile Mapping area of SITEP S.L., Miquel Àngel Rodríguez, participated, together with the Generalitat de Catalunya and the i2CAT Foundation, in three of the four discussion groups: drone technology, regulations, clusters and social acceptance.
The results of these two days will be presented at the 3rd meeting of stakeholders on November 19, a session open to participation focused on the Catalan drone ecosystem. In virtual format, ideas will be proposed to improve the activities of Catalonia Smart Drones in the coming years.
